help me understand

I have this person in my life.

i feel in my heart that we are meant to be together, and have been, but he has suffered through years of my anxiety and leaving and returning and confusion.

he tells me that my fight or flight is skewed to flight.

i need to read some poetry that addresses this or can help me relax and accept the love being offered to me.

I dont have any more chances with him, and i need to have my head right before I jump in.

(this is TMI, i know.. but poetry helps my head and heart more than anything else I know!)

You've probably heard this one from Mary Oliver too, but just in case (and because it's always helpful), here it is:

"Wild Geese"

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
