I watched you
wanted you
one day
I whispered these words
wrapped in a gentle wind
through the flower of my lips
glazed with want
you flirted
then fled
how fast you run
feet trip over hot steaming sidewalks
you dance and dodge
at last feet sidle back
I sit wrapped
wrapped in a cool
breeze of assumed indifference
I wait for you

How I used to like to dance, Sir,
in the green wood of Vrindavan.
How I used to like to chatter, Lord,
as though I were a wild bird.

In the jungle I'm all alone,
the earth in darkness.
The cold storm rages,
and no one to cry pity.

A thousand times I became a corpse,
a thousand times awakened.
The knot of life keeps coming undone:
within, memory full of hope
takes on a thousand lives.

With the hope that you're not cruel
I'll come into the dark.
There I'll stop and set my heart
to dance for you.

-Laxmiprasad Devkota

Request: I can't for the life of me find a copy of Devkota's epic Prometheus poem. Anyone have any ideas where I could find it? I'm going on rather a long trip soon and would love to bring it with me.
