"And the Days Are Not Full Enough" by Ezra Pound

And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
Not shaking the grass.

On a side note, why did Ezra speak in that messed-up Scottish accent?

speaking as a rank civilian on this level, I find that Joyce, Pound, and Eliot were all adept mimics. Probably many others of that time were. I think there may be a milieu question here about the developing role of recording equipment and developing ethnicism as a badge of something.

"messed-up Scottish accent"? really?

I've never heard him... that seems so funny, though! Now I want to find a recording of his.
