Be to her, Persephone,
All the things I might not be:
Take her head upon your knee.
She that was so proud and wild,
Flippant, arrogant and free,
She that had no need of me,
Is a little lonely child
Lost in Hell,—Persephone,
Take her head upon your knee:
Say to her, "My dear, my dear,
It is not so dreadful here."

I remember that one: "I long for Silence as they long for breath/Whose helpless nostrils drink the bitter sea." Dirge Without Music and Renascence are the ones of hers that always *get* me most.

Have you seen Persephone Lied (http://spuffyduds.livejournal.com/38351.html) by [livejournal.com profile] spuffyduds? I'm afraid she's not a Great enough poets to meet the standards of this community, but it's a great poem.

Thanks for this! Every time I see one of her poems, I think, "wow, I really need to know more about her."

So, thanks for the reminder.
