Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

It was probably the first poem I ever read by Dorothy Parker, that got me hooked for all this time to all of her work.

Also another person on LJ posted it saying they didnt know who wrote it, same day.
This poem has much value and meaning, very much.

Oh I love this poem, it's it one of my favorite movies "Girl, Interrupted". I like it's satirycal quality on a very serious subject. Good choice.
