Richard Brautigan is my absolute favorite writer ever.
i'm just rereading The Abortion again,

A friend loaned me a collection of his and told me I had to read In Watermelon Sugar. It's soothing stuff. I'll have to pick up a copy of The Abortion now too. Summer is hard. So many books!

Yeah, The Abortion is making me so happy (again). You just want to write all the beautiful lines on scraps of paper and walk around with them in your pockets...

This poem really touches me at the heart given my "current situation". What a delightful euphenism that is, I'll have to remember that one. I love the shortness of it, especially with his ability to cast a "lingering" mood with the shortness of his words. That's the mark of a talented writer. This is a very well-executed poem. I will have to check out his work.

Well it's hard to describe. It's about Richard Brautigan living in a shack in a town where the sun shines a different color every day, and they make things out of watermelon sugar.
