Windsongs of the Kgalagady

Windsongs blow from the Kgalagady
Skirting the growing fields
Like a maiden's dress
Coyly blown by a careless gust
And gets caught by the thorny bush.
Flirting dustily with the corn,
The windsongs pollen-mate with the flowers.

The windsongs that blow from the desert
Cut through the reeds of Lethlakeng
Fluting into splices of savanna songs
Drowning out the grating rivers of sand.
